Eating as a Family

My first challenge is an easy one… Or, so I hope! Sit around a dinner table and eat dinner as a family for 21 days in a row without ordering take out!

Status: Failed!  Reason: Hyperemesis gravidarum.

Rules:

  • Dinner must be home made.
  • Can be leftovers.
  • All family members present in the house must seat at the table at the same time to eat dinner.
  • Eating out is permitted, so long as it remains a family gathering around a table.
  • No skipping any nights!
  • Skipping of a night will reset the 21 day count to zero.  (eek!)

Documentation Goals:

  • Picture of dinner before serving.
  • Links to recipes (if used) in journal posting.
  • Estimated cost of dinner, or money spent per week on groceries.

Twenty One Days of Eating as a Family commences on…

Week one planning – Complete.

March 7, 2023

Well it’s only been 12 years. Let’s see if we can pickup where we left off and start meal planning once again. As you may or may not know, I’m currently living in a household with another single parent – a family member. In order to survive in the area that I’m in, I had to accept the help from family so I moved in with my brother-in-law into his home with my three kids and his three kids. I will be forever grateful for the ability to live comfortable due to his generosity! I also get the bonus of hanging out with my nephews!

As part of the deal, I offer nannying-type services in order to earn my keep, so to speak. As such, let’s get planning! Meals for 8 people — EIGHT! Let’s roll.
