Boiled peanuts were the ceremonious gift

Right. With that out of the way, I’m happy to announce that I’ve finally completed the Entrelac Baby Blanket, which I adapted from the Basic Entrelac Scarf Pattern (free). I still have to weave in the ends of the blanket, but I’m so happy to be done with the knitting portion… Slowest project I’ve ever done. I think my first sweater was a quicker knit!

I’ve also completed a few other projects – ouch, the hand. It burns!

Aviatrix Newborn Hat

I have knit an Aviatrix hat (link requires Ravelry account), which is down right adorable. I’m more than likely going to knit a couple of them… And then a couple more just so I have a stash of last minute baby gifts for others 😀

Picture is of an unfinished aviatrix hat, since I haven’t gotten around to weaving in the ends and I’m still debating on whether or not to actually affix a button to it.

Trendy Baby Hat... Right?

I’ve also made another baby hat, entitled the “Trendy Baby Hat,” which I knit up with some cheapo chunky yarn and a smaller-than recommended needle. It knit up in less than an hour, which is fabulous since I need two warm hats to prepare for baby’s arrival. With that said, alongside my daughter’s sweater, I am working on the Fixation Newborn Hat, which I’m pretty sure is sized for toddler-sized newborns, so I ended up casting on 50 stitches instead of the called-for 70.

Alright, so hats aren’t all that I knit. Blasphemy, I know. I couldn’t let my daughter get away without dawning something fabulous from my needles, so I knit her up some “Little Stay On Slippers,” which are quite plain, but quick to knit. I added some contrast colour into it and I still have to go back and crochet a border around their openings. Miss A loves them! Unfortunately, her feet don’t as they keep launching themselves out of them… Better to make ’em too big than too small ;D
