My current endeavors

If you have followed me for a while, you likely know that I am sporadic and labile with the adventures that I take myself on.

Currently, I have thrown myself into learning Mandarin Chinese, trying to finish my CanScribe course, and working to get my youtube channel up and running consistently.

I spent a week and a half learning things in final cut pro and working on one video in particular about bullet journals. In the end, I moved the files from a local hard drive to an external one. I updated the file locations in final cut pro (FCPX) and promptly destroyed my hard work.

It’s gone. The video is all gone. I tried to recover bits and pieces, but dozens of google searches and earnest attempts later, I have recovered none of it. The universe is really telling me I suck ass at YouTube and I continue to ignore it’s incessant desire to tell me to stop.

I am focusing hard to get at least four videos completed by the end of this month. I won’t publish them, but I am determined to get them recorded, edited, and uploaded ready to release in the future. My goal is to get at least 20 videos ready to roll before I start releasing them on a weekly basis… Possibly a biweekly, depending on how efficient I get at it without compromising entertainment value.

Another goal I have is to record 52 episodes of my podcast before I re-initiate my podcast. I’m working on getting a format ready so that I can have information recorded that is independent of current events, and leave space for a short topic that is related to the current happenings of the world.

I have a new affiliate code to share with you. Exciting, I know — this one is for iTalki. I have not tried it yet, but I have read a few positive reviews from others who have used it for learning new languages. From what I can see now, it is just a program that allows us to book individual tutors in order to learn languages with one-on-one coaching/tutoring.

I have used almost a dozen language apps and there are only a few that I think are worth the professional version. As I progress through my journey of learning Mandarin Chinese online using Samsung and Windows applications and apps, I will document the journey and share with you the best apps that are actually worth it to upgrade… And I will let you know which ones to avoid (DuoLingo, I’m looking at you).
